we would love YOU to participate in this year's jam in any way you like, but ideally an informal freestyle presentation.

[ x ] + organized___!!_! : :
this year we will be more organised than last year and encourage more local artists to show their work and participate.

[ x ] battle.ZONE___!!_! : :
there will be a 'battle-zone' which will work like a reggae sound clash,,,
each crew/ agency/ individual gets 10 minutes to 'perform',,, crowd reaction and a panel of judges decide the winner. it would be great if you would be on the panel too.

[ x ] non.PROFIT___!!_! : :
NMUF is a non.PROFIT event,,, last year we charged a small fee on the door to cover the cost of the projector,,, all the profit went back to the bar so people could drink for free.

[ x ] dilemma___!!_! : :
last year there was some tension between ourselves and the organisers of the design indaba as we were perceived as being 'anti-indaba' (which is not the case). this caused some of the speakers to feel uncomfortable with coming to the NMUF event.

[ x ] so[u]lution___!!_! : :
this year we are going to make sure that we keep the design indaba in the
loop so that there are no misunderstandings. whilst we acknowledge that
without the design indaba the NMUF would not be possible, we maintain that there is a need for an NMUF event due to the prohibitive costs of the indaba, especially in the context of south africa.
